The Reno Air races are held at Reno Stead Field airport, which is 8
miles north of the city.
The National Championship Reno Air Races is considered to be the
longest running Air Race in the world.
The Reno Air Racing Association, which organizes the event, is a
non-profit organization dedicated to the preservation of authentic air
racing.
I call this a brief history of the Reno Air Races because so much has
happened at the air races that it would take a large book to do the
subject justice.
The Reno Air Races are the best show on earth if you are into
airplanes, especially vintage WWII aircraft. Races in several classes
take place each day, with air show acts in between.
